I will pick you up at 08.30 am at your Hotel and after a 30-minute ride we will arrive at Sintra around 09:00 am. Our first stop will be Pena Palace,a fantastic extravagant palace that lays on top of a mountain, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view in all directions, seeing as far as the 25th April bridge in Lisbon and the Atlantic seashore in the opposite direction.
This magnificent palace was built in the 19th century following a dream of King Ferdinand II that had the ambition to make Sintra one of the most important places of the Romantic movement and inspire artists from all over Europe.
English poet Lord Byron and German composer Richard Strauss were just two of those men that spent time on this new Palace and immediately felt inspired and in love for Sintra.
Pena palace is surrounded by a 100 acre park designed from scratch to enable a calm and inspiring journey through its hidden spots and magical trails.
You will discover some of the most beautiful spots at the park and you will be able to take pictures that your friends will envy you for.
